Restore Deleted Files- Use Windows Recycle Bin

Posted on June 24, 2010. Filed under: Easy Tricks using Windows |

Double clicking the Recycle Bin icon allows you to view the objects (files) that have been deleted.

The recycle bin holds the items until they are emptied from there.

By right clicking on the recycle bin icon you can see how much space is allocated for the bin.

Larger files that can not fit will be erased without warning.

If you want to retrieve a file you have deleted then drag the file from the recycle bin to where you want to restore it, or you can right click the file and select restore (to its original spot).

If you want to permanently erase files (bypassing the recycle bin) simply hold down the shift key as you delete the file.

If you have deleted a file accidentally- check the recycle bin before it gets emptied!
