How To Customize / Personalize Your Windows Start Menu

To customize the Start Menu…

 right click on the taskbar and choose Properties> click on the Start Menu tab and click Customize.

 Here you can decide how you want your start menu to look. 

In Windows XP you can also clear the list of the recorded recent documents.

To find the list of your recent documents click on Start and on the right select Recent Documents.

In some versions of Windows XP this feature is not enabled by default to enable it, in the taskbar and start menu properties screen, click start menu tab and then click opened documents option and click OK.
